Russell Lane is a well-established pedestrian corridor within an inner-city location connecting Cinema, Theatre and Restaurants.
The project entailed the integration of lighting, landscaping and street furniture. Essentially this was a rejuvenation and public safety project, the local council wanted to increase safety for foot traffic to and from the cinema, theatre and restaurants after dark.
Asten Solar partnered with street furniture designers to revamp the area with a heritage look and feel. The design maintains compatibility with the existing architecture of streetscape and heritage buildings.
We customised the height to suit the planter boxes, providing a cost-effective installation within the planter box design. It was an outstanding result with a 38% saving opposed to grid connected alternatives.
